A stretch of unseasonably warm weather has delayed the start of ski season at Brian Head Resort, which now plans to open Friday, November, 14, 2025, at 10 a.m., weather permitting. The resort had originally aimed for a November 7 debut, but temperatures haven’t dipped low enough for consistent snowmaking. “We’re eager to welcome skiers and riders for another great season,” Amber Palmer said, the resort’s marketing manager. “Our mountain operations team is working hard to make snow every time temperatures drop so we can open as soon as possible.”
Guests who booked visits between November 7 and 13 will receive a full credit automatically issued November 5, valid for lift tickets anytime during the 2025-26 season. Those preferring a refund can contact the resort’s reservations team at reservations@brianhead.com or 435-677-2035.
At 9,600 feet above sea level, Brian Head is typically one of the first ski areas to open in Utah and the greater Southwest Region, spanning across Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. But recent temperature swings have challenged early-season snowmaking across much of the Intermountain West, as resorts balance optimism with patience heading into winter.
