Our Yorkshire Farm fans ‘so sad’ as Amanda Owen announces heartbreaking news

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen announced some heartbreaking news on Wednesday morning. The mum-of-nine took to Instagram to share some sad news about their dog, Chalky.

Amanda shared a snap of the dog along with the caption, “Mourning #Chalky.” Fans rushed to the comment section to send messages of support. One wrote, “So sad when you lose a dog. Sending you love.”

While a third added. “Sorry for your loss, Amanda, Clive, and family.” Someone else stated, “Very sad to lose a pet. Sorry for your loss. Love to you all.”

Amanda later updated a video of her and Chalky. She captioned the clip, “Chalky’s adventures continued even when her mobility was limited.

“She never paused. Always the traveller and known affectionately as Chalky Traila**e, she just came along with us whatever task we were undertaking.”

In the emotional video, Amanda shared, “I’ve got company today. Yes, it is Chalky, and I am sorry to say that Chalky is…

“How can I put this nicely while Chalky is in earshot? Chalky is fading. She has had her time, and what a great life she has had.

“But now she is struggling, she is very weak, she is tired, and she keeps falling over.

“She is not in any pain or anything, and I just have to make sure that she doesn’t conclude her life by falling over somewhere silly, so wherever I go, Chalky comes too.”

When Amanda isn’t busy filming and running Ravenseat Farm, she is very active on social media, where she keeps her fans updated about her day-to-day life.

The Shepherdess also highlights the highs and lows of farming, and in her most recent post, she shared a warning with her followers.

The post included a picture of her daughter Nancy touching a hedgehog in a basket, on the doorstep of their home.

Alongside the image, the farmer wrote: “Watch out for these little prickly darlings.

“Seems to have been a good year for hedgehogs, there’s been a lot of them around. Found in and amongst what potentially could have been a bonfire.”
