Two new counties added to Status Yellow rain warning as flooding and strong gusts to close out week

Met Éireann issued the rain alert yesterday for counties Cork and Kerry, valid from 11am tomorrow until 8pm.
Joining them under the alert tomorrow will be Galway and Mayo between the times of midday and 8pm, the national forecaster said today.
The rain warnings will follow the trend of unsettled conditions across the country this week, signalling the potential for flooding and strong gusts in the south and southwest, Met Éireann has said.
Meanwhile, a concurrent wind warning will apply to the same counties with the addition of Waterford and Wexford, valid from 11am to 11pm in the evening.
The forecaster warns of the potential for localised flooding, fallen trees and dangerous travelling conditions.
It predicts the unsettled weather will continue this week as low pressure brings gloomy conditions to northwestern counties.
Breezy and rainy conditions will visit that region this morning before extending eastwards over the afternoon, bringing temperatures of between 9C and 12C.
Tonight will be largely dry, rainier in the north, with temperatures between a chilly 1C to 4C.
Tomorrow will be both cool and rainy as the rain and wind warnings activate from 11am.
