Newcastle star planning long-term stay at club – ‘Extremely comfortable’, impressed by Magpies setup

Newcastle United summer signing Nick Woltemade is adamant he’ll be staying at the club for a long time. He sees the Magpies as a long-term project for himself.
That’s according to SportBILD, who cover the striker today and how he’s loving life at Newcastle so far.
They say the 23-year-old has ‘quickly settled’ at Newcastle since his arrival in the summer. That’s on the pitch, and off it as well.
He’s quickly made friends in the squad with the likes of Kieran Tripper, Fabian Schar, Anthony Gordon and Jacob Murphy in particular. That’s helped him enjoy a quick, goalscoring start to life at St James Park on the pitch as well.
They’ve been particularly impressed by his ‘down-to-earth’ nature off the pitch. SportBILD give an example of the striker using EasyJet to return quicker from the international break rather than using a private jet. He did that because he wanted to link up with his Newcastle teammates as soon as possible.
He ‘prioritises sporting success’ over anything else. It’s that which his driving a desire to ‘stay long-term’ at Newcastle and develop. He feels ‘extremely comfortable’ at the club. He’s also been left impressed behind the scenes.
He likes the ‘familial’ atmosphere within the club but was impressed by the training standards Eddie Howe has implemented. This includes a drone being present at every training session, recording drills from a bird’s eye view. That footage is then used for analysis.
Howe even sometimes stops drills to use the footage right there on the pitch with the players. Woltemade also has a special attacking coach in Graeme Jones. He regularly puts the Newcastle strikers through ‘intensive extra training sessions’.
Woltemade loves all of it and the ‘structured environment’ he’s discovered. He’s already clear, he wants to stay at Newcastle long-term. He doesn’t want to leave after just one season, regardless of any interest that there might be in him.
