Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches Season 3 Casts Major Breaking Bad Star As Series Regular

Annie Rice’s Mayfair Witches season 3 has cast a major Breaking Bad star as a series regular in the next installment of the Immortal Universe series. Mayfair Witches season 3 will continue Rowan’s (Alexandra Daddario) story, delving deeper into the lore of the Mayfair family and witchcraft. The show will also change locations from New Orleans, Louisiana to Salem, Massachusetts.
Now, Deadline has confirmed Betsy Brandt, best known for her role as Marie Schrader on Breaking Bad, will be joining Mayfair Witches season 3 as a series regular. Brandt will portray a woman named Katherine, though her exact role in the new season remains under wraps. Filming is currently underway in Vancouver, Canada as of October 20, 2025.
Brandt’s role on the cast of Mayfair Witches will reunite her with executive producers Mark Johnson and Thomas Schnauz, both of whom were involved in Breaking Bad‘s production. Johnson serves as an executive producer for all shows in the Immortal Universe. As for Schnauz, he’s joining Mayfair Witches showrunner Esta Spalding as co-showrunner for season 3.

While it’s unclear how Brandt’s character will factor into the new storyline, season 3 will be delving more deeply into the lore of not just the Mayfairs, but witchcraft within the Immortal Universe. This includes new families of witches alongside ties to the Salem witch trials and other supernatural historical events that are linked to the town.
Mayfair Witches season 3 is expected to wrap filming in February 2026. This likely means it’s not going to come out until later that year, probably some time after Interview with the Vampire season 3, which has already finished filming. It’s also been confirmed for 2026, meaning Mayfair Witches probably isn’t that far behind.
Although not much has been revealed about where the story will go, its new location doesn’t mean what’s been set up previously won’t have important repercussions. Season 2 ended with setup for a battle between Rowan and Julian Mayfair (Ted Levine), something season 3 will likely follow up on despite the drastic change to its location.
Given Brandt’s role as a core character, it seems like Mayfair Witches‘ expansion into Salem will have some long-standing repercussions for the show, especially in terms of new faces joining the cast. No matter how her character appears in the series, the actor will no doubt bring a memorable performance to the series as its mystical, supernatural story continues to build.
