Girl, 5, dead after being hit by ute

A child has died after she was hit by a car in Sydney’s northwest on Thursday afternoon.
NSW Police have said that at around 3.45pm emergency services were called to Clower Ave in Rouse Hill following reports of a pedestrian colliding with a car.
The location is close to Rouse Hill Public School.
Officers were told were told a 5-year-old girl was riding a scooter on the footpath before she was hit by a Toyota HiLux utility.
The girl was treated by paramedics before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition, where she later died.
The driver of the HiLux – a 42-year-old man – was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.
Both the utility and the scooter have been seized by police, to be forensically examined.
A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
