Multi-agency search for fugitive Dominic Connelly leaves local residents on edge

Authorities in Vanceboro are intensifying their search for Dominic Connelly, deploying helicopters, drones, and K9 units in a coordinated effort.
Despite extensive efforts, including deputies entering the woods with bulletproof vests and firearms, the search has yet to yield results.
Dr. Gurinder Sandhu, owner of Vanceboro Internal Medicine, noted the impact on local businesses, saying, “Everybody is on edge right now, and people are kind of reluctant to go out… some patients have canceled their appointments with us today.”

Multiple agencies, including the State Highway Patrol and State Bureau of Investigations, are assisting the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.
Local residents Randy Jenkins and Robert Moore expressed skepticism about Connelly’s capture, with Jenkins stating, “I don’t think he’s coming out, they’ll have to go get him… If he comes out he’s going to be on a stretcher.”
