Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Louis Varland has been used quite a bit this post-season but it looks like he might be tipping pitches according to John Schneider.

Blue Jays pitcher Louis Varland was caught tipping pitches

During game 4, Varland stepped off the mound quite a bit when the Dodgers were at second base behind him and Schneider explained that they believe the Dodgers were relaying signs.

Schneider stated that it is fair game if they are able to see the pitches but they did what they could to stop the problem avoid the hitter knowing what pitch was coming.

Btw, Blue Jays thought Dodgers were relaying signs in G4. That’s why Louis Varland kept stepping off. John Schneider:

“I mean it’s fair game. And we highly suspected that there was relaying, you know, which is fine. But just didn’t want to have the hitter know what was coming”

Clearly the fact that Varland might be tipping pitches did not seem to bother Schneider as he continued to use him and even after game 5 last night, he stated that he fully trust him every time he is on the mound.

“I trust the hell out of him.”

John Schneider pumps the tires of his go-to arm in the bullpen this postseason, Louis Varland.

This is not the first time the Blue JaysBlue Jays have dealt with pitch tipping this post-season, especially in the ALDS against the New York Yankees who are known for being quite good at relaying pitches.

Despite that, Varland was still able to deliver for the Blue Jays which is why Schneider is still so confident in his abilities.
