Hear from Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell as he provides an update on Cyclones’ tight end Benjamin Brahmer, who left the game after a hard hit in the fourth.

Iowa State football starting tight end Benjamin Brahmer was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of his team’s Week 10 game vs. Arizona State on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Players from both teams took a knee as the Cyclones’ star was tended to by medical personnel following a concerning hit and fall.

Ben Brahmer injury update

Just after the 9-minute mark of the fourth quarter, with ISU trailing 24-19, Brahmer took a hard hit when targeted by quarterback Rocco Becht.

Brahmer momentarily appeared OK as he attempted to walk to his team’s huddle before falling down and staying on the ground for a long time before being carted off the field.

He gave the crowd a thumbs-up as he was being driven off the field, and according to Iowa State communications, he is alert and is being taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center out of precaution.

Brahmer was effective in the game before his injury, catching three passes for 48 yards and one touchdown.
