Trump: Ilhan Omar Threatens Somali Congresswoman Again

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – International Service: In his latest controversial remarks, US President Donald Trump posted a video of Ilhan Omar’s speech on the social network “Truth Social” and wrote: “She should go back!”; a clear reference to the Somali origin of the Democratic representative from Minnesota.
The video, the exact time of which is not known, has been circulating among right-wing social media accounts in recent weeks. Trump has previously repeatedly criticized Ilhan Omar for being an immigrant and her political views. In September, he claimed that he had offered to “bring Omar back” during a meeting with the Somali president, but according to him, the Somali president rejected the offer.
Born in Somalia, Ilhan Omar fled civil war at the age of 8 and, after spending four years in a refugee camp in Kenya, immigrated to the United States in 1995. She became a naturalized citizen in 2000 and is now a prominent figure in the Democratic Party’s progressive wing.
In response to the attacks, Omar declared in a radio interview that she was not afraid of the threats, saying, “I am no longer that 8-year-old child who fled the war. I am grown, my children are grown, and I can live wherever I want.”
She also responded to Trump’s claims by calling him a “liar and a disgrace,” and stressed that such rhetoric would not affect her commitment to serving in Congress.
