Multiple arrests in Navy Yard on Halloween night, large group flees from police and troops

WASHINGTON (WJLA — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) made several arrests Friday night after a “disorderly” group caused a disturbance in Navy Yard, according to officials.

Multiple police cars blocked off streets on M Street and 1st Street and a large group was seen sprinting away from the flashing lights.

Police asked residents to avoid M Street from 1st to 3rd Street, SE, and New Jersey Avenue closed south of L Street, SE.

Around 11 p.m., the group had cleared, and police maintained a presence in the area with additional officers and road closures in place.
