Bills Announce Troubling James Cook News After Chiefs Game

The Buffalo Bills improved to 6-2 over the weekend with an impressive 28-21 victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Star quarterback Josh Allen was surgical, completing 23-of-26 passing for 273 yards and a touchdown through the air with another 19 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Meanwhile, star running back James Cook continued to show Buffalo made the right decision handing him a four-year, $48 million deal ahead of the season.

Cook racked up 114 rushing yards in the contest, adding to his league-leading 108 yards per game on the ground, while catching one pass for another 11 yards in the win.

It’s not all good news for Cook and the Bills, though. On Wednesday, Nov. 5 head coach Sean McDermott announced Cook isn’t practicing after picking up an injury in Sunday’s win over the Chiefs.

“Sean McDermott said that RB James Cook’s injury did pop up during the game vs. the Chiefs (had his lower body wrapped a bit) and has been sore the last couple days,” Bills reporter Alaina Getzenberg said.

Cook sits second in the NFL in rushing with 867 yards, trailing Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor by just 28 yards for the No. 1 spot despite playing one fewer game than Taylor.

If he were to miss Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, backup running backs Ty Johnson and Ray Davis would likely see increased workloads.
