Eagles at Packers Injury Report

Thursday’s Injury Report

On Thursday, wide receiver A.J. Brown declared that he’s going to play Monday night against the Packers.

On Friday, outside linebacker Nolan Smith made the same proclamation.

“Hell yeah,” Smith said on Friday when asked if he’s playing in Green Bay.

Smith returned to practice this week for the first time since injuring his triceps in the Week 3 win over the Rams.

The Eagles’ edge group for Monday night could feature the debut of Jaelan Phillips, the return of Smith and Brandon Graham, along with strong contributions from Jalyx Hunt and Joshua Uche.

“I think we added great additions to the room,” Smith said. “We’re a bunch of hungry guys ready to go work and go eat.”

This season, Smith has 10 tackles and a forced fumble in 142 defensive snaps. He plays with such violent force on the edge in defending the run and his non-stop motor makes it tough for opposing offensive linemen to keep him at bay.

When the Eagles beat the Packers in the NFC’s Wild Card Round last season, Smith sacked Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love twice, becoming the youngest Eagle (23 years old) ever to record multiple sacks in a postseason game. By the end of the Super Bowl run, Smith set a new franchise playoff record with four sacks.

Smith has been a full participant in practice this week, but the Eagles still need to activate him off Injured Reserve by Monday at 4 PM.

Starting center Cam Jurgens missed Friday’s practice with a knee injury. He has yet to practice since suffering the injury in the Week 8 win in Minnesota. Brett Toth started for Jurgens against the Giants in the Eagles’ last game.

Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson did not participate in Friday’s practice due to personal reasons. He is also in the concussion protocol and was limited on Thursday.

Defensive tackle Moro Ojomo also has a concussion, but he was a full participant on Friday after being limited on Thursday.

Everyone else fully participated in Friday’s practice. The team will practice again on Saturday before traveling to Green Bay on Sunday.
