Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater kept their distance from one another at the London premiere of Wicked: For Good, as many continue to speculate whether or not they have called time on their romance.
The 32-year-old actress and singer and the 33-year-old Broadway star met on the set of the first Wicked film in 2022 and began dating the following year while Slater was still married to his high school sweetheart, Lilly Jay. Now, sources are claiming the pair have split.
Grande, 32, and Slater, 33, have been doing their Wicked: For Good promotion mostly apart, which has fueled split rumors, and were only photographed together in group shots, with several of their co-stars standing between them.

Insiders have claimed to the Daily Mail that the pair have been “on and off” for several months. In her recent New York Times interview, Grande did not discuss her love life, but the outlet described Slater as someone she “dated.”
However, despite the ongoing speculation about their current relationship status, Grande and Slater have proven that they remain supportive of each other on Instagram. They continue to like every post the other shares on the social media platform.

While Grande didn’t go into her love life to The New York Times, she did open up about her relationship with fame and how certain things that come with it have recently sucked the joy out it for her.
She said, “Nothing prepares you for what comes with it. Until quite recently, it was really hard for me to navigate, and I think it stripped a lot of joy out of this for me.”

Slater also recently appeared to address the speculation about his relationship with Grande. He appeared to put the rumors down with an Instagram post over the weekend, following the release of NBC’s special Wicked: One Wonderful Night.
Among Slater’s gallery of snaps, Grande was noticeably present, including in one backstage image that showed the actress and co-star Bowen Yang in a Wicked-themed photo booth.
Grande and Slater have been together since summer 2023. In September 2024, the former Nickelodeon star spoke to Vanity Fair about the attention her love life has gotten, saying, “It definitely doesn’t get any easier, seeing some of the negativity that was birthed by disreputable tabloids.

“Of course, I went through a lot of life changes during the filming of this movie. A lot of people that were working on it did. We were away for two years. So, of course, I understand why it was a field day for the tabloids to sort of create something that paid their bills.”
She also praised Slater, “No one on this earth tries harder or spreads themselves thinner to be there for the people that he loves and cares about. There is no one on this earth with a better heart, and that is something that no bullshit tabloid can rewrite in real life.”
