Hollie Transitions from Teaching to Motorsport Media and Co-Driving at Rally Event

Hollie has made a significant transition from academia to the dynamic world of motorsport media, showcasing her multifaceted talents in front of the camera. Her journey began through a personal blog, where she documented her university experiences on platforms like YouTube and social media. This initial exposure led to opportunities beyond her expectations, including filming at rally events.
In a bold move, Hollie decided to leave her teaching career behind in 2022 to pursue her passion for motorsport full-time, establishing her own media firm. Her dedication and presence soon made her a familiar face in the rally community, where she has carved out a niche for herself.
In a notable development this September, Hollie took a personal step into the realm of rallying as she co-drove for her 82-year-old grandfather during the International McRae Rally Challenge at Knockhill. This event held special significance for her family, marking 50 years of rallying success for her father, Jimmy, and recalling 30 years since her uncle Alister clinched victory in the British Rally Championship.
Reflecting on her transition into driving, Hollie shared insights about her mother’s initial concerns. “When I first started getting involved in the sport and going on passenger runs, mum was like, ‘Oh god, not another one, what are we going to do now?’” she recalled. However, as she delves deeper into her new role, Hollie’s mother Alison appears to have come around. “I think she does trust that I’m doing it for the right reasons,” Hollie said, emphasizing her commitment to safety and enjoyment in motorsport.
