Where is Louisville football in Week 2 of CFP rankings?

After falling to California in overtime, Louisville football is 20th in Week 2 of the College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night.

U of L is 19th in the AP Top 25 rankings and 21st in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

With two losses, the Cardinals only have a 3.5% chance of making the CFP, according to ESPN’s FPI, with three games left in the regular season. They have an early week by facing Clemson at 7:30 p.m. Friday before traveling to SMU for the Week 13 ACC finale. Louisville notched the program’s first win over the Tigers last year on the road but has never beaten the Mustangs. SMU played Louisville last year for the first time as conference mates and beat the Cards, 34-27, at L&N Stadium.

For the second straight year, the Mustangs are in contention to make the ACC championship, while Louisville’s chances were severely diminished after its loss to the Golden Bears. But it can help its case this week by getting another win over Clemson.
