Marvel’s Elizabeth Olsen Makes a Surprising Comment on VisionQuest

Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently made a surprising remark about the upcoming Disney+ series VisionQuest. The upcoming TV show will serve as a spin-off to 2021’s WandaVision and 2024’s Agatha All Along. Together, the three shows are considered part of a trilogy.
Elizabeth Olsen says she ‘didn’t know anything’ about VisionQuest until recently
Olsen said in a new interview with Inverse that she “didn’t know anything about” VisionQuest until she spent some time with Paul Bettany “just the other week.” The Eternity star stated, “I didn’t know anything about it until he and I spent time with each other just the other week, and he’s so proud of it. It really sounds like a trifecta between Agatha All Along, his show, VisionQuest, and what we made with WandaVision. So, I’m excited to see that.”
This comes after considerable speculation about her full MCU return within the show. However, even though Olsen publicly said that she did not know about VisionQuest, that doesn’t mean she can’t be in the show. There are several instances where Marvel and associated actors have consciously hidden their involvement in a given project. An example of this is Andrew Garfield’s casting in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which he denied until the film’s release.
Wanda seemingly died in the 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and it was reportedly confirmed in the MCU book Marvel Studios’ The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about Olsen’s potential return to the MCU.
The official logline for VisionQuest reads, “After the events of WandaVision, White Vision struggles to connect with the memories given to him as he lacks the emotions or feelings associated with them.”
The cast includes Bettany as the Vision, James Spader as Ultron, Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E, and Todd Stashwick as Paladin.
VisionQuest is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in late 2026.
