AEW Dynamite preview (Nov. 12, 2025): AEW tries to make sure Blood & Guts is much better than WWE War Games

Dynamite airs tonight (Nov. 12) with a live show from First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is the fourth episode of Dynamite during the five week build to Full Gear, which takes place on November 22.

AEW tries to make sure Blood & Guts is much better than WWE War Games

AEW’s Blood & Guts event normally takes place between May and July, but this year it’s happening in November. That’s the same month WWE always books its annual WarGames matches, so comparisons between the two versions of the concept will naturally be made.

So, what makes AEW Blood & Guts stand out this year? For one thing, the women’s division is finally getting in on the violent fun. AEW is running two different Blood & Guts cage matches on the same night, which the promotion hasn’t done before, and the women’s debut match is expanding beyond the typical 5 vs. 5 format. It looks like the show is scheduled to run for 2.5 hours (plus an overrun) to accommodate the extra Blood & Guts match.

AEW had to make sure its top stars are in the first ever women’s Blood & Guts match, so that’s why Toni Storm and TBS Champion Mercedes Moné are leading the way. The babyface squad consists of Storm, Harley Cameron, Willow Nightingale, Mina Shirakawa, Jamie Hayter, and AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander. The heel team includes Moné, Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir, Thekla, Skye Blue, and Julia Hart.

There’s also a men’s Blood & Guts match, with Jon Moxley’s Death Riders right at the center of it. This one is a 5 vs. 5 match pitting Darby Allin, Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong against Mox, PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta. AEW is juicing things up a bit with the recent announcement that pro wrestling legends Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat are in the building. Will they find a way to somehow get in on the carnage? I bet Flair has already pitched all sorts of angles that end up with him covered from head to toe in his own blood and guts.

The rules for Blood & Guts are nearly identical to War Games, of course. There are two rings covered by one giant steel cage. One wrestler from each team begins the match inside the cage. A new competitor enters the fray at set intervals, and the match officially begins when the full teams are inside the cage. There are no pin falls; the bout is won when someone submits or surrenders. As far as this year’s matches are concerned, the women’s heel team has the advantage in terms of sending a new team member into the cage first, while the men’s babyface squad has that same advantage.

With all of that out of the way, here is the official trailer for Blood & Guts 2025:

Given how close AEW’s Blood & Guts and WWE’s War Games matches are to each other on the schedule this year, it will stand out that much more if one promotion does it way better or worse than the other. With that in mind, I’d bet Tony Khan has some interesting surprises or memorable moments planned to make sure his version of the concept outshines WWE this year.

Can AEW deliver on the hype for one of its most anticipated episodes of Dynamite in 2025? Tune into Blood & Guts to find out.

AEW World Champion Hangman Page is in action tonight against Powerhouse Hobbs in a Falls Count Anywhere match, with no title on the line. This match came about after Hobbs slammed Page through a table near the entrance ramp last week, as Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and Hobbs went on to retain the AEW world trios championship against Page, Eddie Kingston, and the weak link HOOK. Will all those guys run in to affect the outcome of this bout as well?

Other stuff to keep an eye on

– The confusing new AEW National Championship will be awarded at Full Gear to the winner of a Casino Gauntlet match that currently includes Bobby Lashley, Ricochet, Shelton Benjamin, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and Kevin Knight. How many more names will be announced for the PPV match? Does Tony Khan plan to reveal what the new belt design looks like before Full Gear gets here?

– There was a pretty funny moment last week on Dynamite when Brody King drank his own pee punched through a door to thwart a scheme from FTR and Big Stoke. Do the heels have a new trap in mind for the AEW world tag team champions to escape from tonight before they fight over the gold at Full Gear? Will Bang Bang Gang try to get added to the PPV title match after their upset win over FTR on Collision?

– The Broke Bucks have a chance to win one million dollars at Full Gear. All they have to do is team up with Don Callis Family henchman Josh Alexander to beat Kenny Omega and Jurassic Express in a trios match. Will Callis give the Young Bucks a bigger share of the purse depending on how much permanent damage they do to Omega? Is their (former) friendship with Kenny worth more to the Bucks than all of this Tony Khan money? How much more time will the Bucks have to make a decision on joining the Callis Family before AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada turns on them?

– Max Caster and Anthony Bowens aren’t happy that AEW keeps booking them in tag team matches together. How much longer will this be angle be stretched out before they reunite as The Acclaimed, and does anybody really care all that much at this point?

– Will any more wrestlers walk out of this AEW taping after being asked to lose a three minute match?

– Where the f*** is Britt Baker?

What will you be looking for on Dynamite?
