Guangdong beats Liaoning in semi-final of basketball game

Guangdong and Liaoning met in the semi-final of the basketball tournament at China’s 15th National Games held in Dongguan on November 11. The Team Guangdong claimed victory and advanced to the final.
With the contributions of He Xining and Zhao Rui, Guangdong defeated Liaoning with 92:73 and promoted to the final, which will be held on November 12.
As the defending champion, Team Liaoning is regarded as the biggest challenger for Guangdong at the National Games.
The game was very close at the beginning when Gao Shiyan, the No.0 Liaoning player, got 9 points with 50% hit rate at the first quarter. However, Guangdong quickly widened the score gap to 10 points through Zhao Rui’s 11 points at the end of 1st quarter.
Although Team Liaoning narrowed the gap to 1 point at the beginning of the 3rd quarter, Shen Zijie’s dunks and Xu Jie’s lay out helped Guangdong to be ahead by double digits and sealed the game with 92:73.
