THE WEEKEND WARRIOR November 14, 2025 – Edgar Wright Interview and Box Office (Video)

Last week’s Predator: Badlands effectively helped kickstart the box office heading into November, and this week, that’s facing (is this right?) FIVE (!!!) other genre films in wide release, which I’ll be discussing in this longer-than-expected video portion of the weekly column, which also took way longer than I expected to edit. I really need to figure out an easier way to do this, and next week, I might just have to do a written column since I’ll be out of town on Monday and Tuesday.

More importantly, I’m thrilled to share that this week’s video column includes a lively interview I did with filmmaker Edgar Wright, who I’ve known for over two decades, and whose new movie, The Running Man, starring Glenn Powell, will be hitting theaters nationwide this Friday.

The written portion of this column, which should include a few reviews and the repertory round-up, will hit sometime on Thursday morning or afternoon, so check back then for that.

I’ve also already reviewed Lionsgate’s Now You See Me, Now You Don’t, a review you can read here, while my review of Osgood Perkins’ Keeper will also arrive sometime on Thursday.

(And apologies in advance, but my background was changing a few times after the Now You See Me segment without me realizing it, until I was well into editing. I’ll say it again… work in progress…)

In the meantime, here are my predictions for the weekend as they stand right now, and if you watch the video above, you can learn more about how I arrived at them.
