AFC Toronto Will Split 2026 Between Two Stadiums

Northern Super League side AFC Toronto will be playing at BMO Field this Saturday for the inaugural NSL Final, marking the third time the club has used the downtown venue.

Heading into 2026, it looks like the club will be heading back several more times: today, AFC Toronto announced a new home venue model for the 2026 NSL season that will see the club split home games between BMO Field and York Lions Stadium.

It’s a fairly even split percentage between the two venues: AFC Toronto says it will play at York Lions Stadium during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but will use BMO Field for select marquee fixtures both before and after the tournament.

“We set out from day one to build a club that belongs to all of Toronto,” says AFC Toronto CEO Helena Ruken. “Our game and our community keep growing, and this move is about matching that ambition – giving our players and supporters a bigger stage to stand on. We are inviting everyone in this city to help shape what comes next and to build our legacy together, on and off the pitch.”

With the club stating the move marks a sign of ambition driving AFC Toronto, the side’s long-term plan appears to be a shift downtown. They have previously conversed with the city of Toronto about renovations to Lamport Stadium, having also played their inaugural match at BMO Field.

The club has also announced the opening of 2026 season ticket memberships which include preferred pricing at both venues.

The Toronto-based Northern Super League side secured passage into this weekend’s NSL Final after dispatching Montreal Roses 6-1 at York Lions Stadium, and appear to be the favourites for the Diana B. Matheson Trophy. However, the final whistle is a hard-fought match away, with the 2025 NSL Final kicking off at 2:00PM this Saturday at BMO Field.
