Future Man is among the series making its way to Netflix on November 14. This sci-fi comedy, which first premiered on Hulu in 2017, stars Josh Hutcherson as Josh Futturman, a janitor who unexpectedly becomes embroiled in time-travel escapades after defeating a seemingly impossible video game. Alongside soldiers Tiger and Wolf, he embarks on a mission to save humanity from impending doom. The series, created by Sony Pictures Television and Point Grey, enjoyed a successful three-season run, wrapping up its story in 2020. Viewers in most international territories, including Canada, Latin America, and parts of Europe and Asia, can look forward to this title—though Australia is notably excluded from this rollout.
Another series joining the platform on November 13 is The Great, a satirical take on the tumultuous rise of Catherine the Great in Russia. Featuring Elle Fanning as Catherine and Nicholas Hoult as Emperor Peter, the show delves into palace intrigues and the power dynamics of the Russian court. Originally airing on Hulu starting in 2020, this series also concluded its three-season arc earlier this year. While most of mainland Europe will gain access, audiences in the United Kingdom, Australia, Israel, and Canada will not be able to stream it.
Lastly, Mr. Mercedes, based on Stephen King’s gripping crime novel, will also be available on November 13. The series follows retired detective Bill Hodges, portrayed by Brendan Gleeson, as he reopens a case involving a notorious mass murderer. This psychological drama contrasts with typical supernatural elements associated with King’s works, focusing instead on the characters and their dynamics. Initially airing on Audience Network between 2017 and 2019, the series eventually shifted to Peacock in the U.S. It will be available to viewers in Canada, many countries in mainland Europe, and the Nordics, while again remaining out of reach for audiences in the United Kingdom and Australia.
