Babar Azam joined legendary Inzamam-ul-Haq in an elite list of Pakistani batters on Saturday, November 8. The 31-year-old right-handed batter from Lahore on Saturday, during the third Pakistan-South Africa ODI match at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, became the fifth Pakistani batter to score 15,000 runs in international cricket. Babar, who is one of the best batters of all time, scored 27 runs from 32 balls for the Shaheen Shah Afridi-led side in the 144-run chase. When he reached the 23-run mark in the third ODI, he completed 15,000 runs in international cricket for Pakistan.
Babar has a total of 15,004 runs to his credit in 370 innings of 329 international matches for Pakistan.
He has scored 4366 runs in 61 Tests, 6336 runs in 137 ODIs and 4302 runs in 131 T20I matches.

In the list of batters with the most runs for Pakistan in international cricket, he is only behind Inzamam, Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf and Javed Miandad.
During his 16-year-long career from 1991 to 2007, Inzamam scored 20,541 runs in 495 matches for the Pakistani team. He is the only Pakistani to score more than 20,000 runs in international cricket. Younis amassed a total of 17,790 runs, and Yousuf scored 17,134 runs in 374 matches, whereas Miandad finished his career with 16,213 runs.

Babar is overall the 44th cricketer in the world to score more than 15,000 runs in international cricket.
In ODIs, a total of 10 batters have scored more runs for Pakistan than Babar, but he is the only one to have a batting average of more than 50 in the 50-over format of the game.
In T20Is, he holds the record for scoring the most runs in international cricket. During the three-match T20I series against South Africa last week, he broke Rohit Sharma’s record of 4231 runs in the second match played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on October 31.
