VIDEO: Historic building in downtown Wilmington on fire
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A building in the historic district of downtown Wilmington has caught on fire.
According to the Wilmington Fire Department, crews are reporting to a fire at the Graystone Inn in downtown Wilmington.
The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) has shut down 3rd Street from Market and Orange Street due to the fire.
WFD confirmed that New Hanover County Fire Rescue and Leland Fire Department are on the scene assisting.
This is not the first time this building has caught on fire. In 2023, the Graystone Inn caught fire. The inn has been closed for repairs since then.
According to crews on the scene, the call reporting the fire came in at around 1:40 p.m.
