Over the past few weeks, the pair have struggled to settle on where they will live after the experiment, with Bailey insisting he can’t move away from Brighton because of his daughter Bluebell.

While Rebecca has been adamant she can’t leave as she has a business is based in Liverpool.

With them repeatedly clashing on what their future on the outside will look like, Rebecca was keen to get an outside perspective from her mum.

Rebecca said: “We’ve got such an amazing relationship and now it’s like ‘you’ve got to live apart’, and it feels wild.”

Her mum Wendy replied: “He’s [Bailey] got to consider moving here and you’ve got to consider moving there.

“Bailey’s got responsibilities down there and you belong here.”

Rebecca continued: “I’m at point in her life where I know I want children and if I had children with Bailey and I was down south, my life wouldn’t look like all my friends lives.

“I’m so involved in the children’s lives, I’m so involved in my nieces lives and I wouldn’t have anybody to be like that with me down south.”

Wendy said: “And obviously just looking after my grandchildren is just everything to me.”

Rebecca admitted she was struggling with the decision, while her mum continued to ask if she could see herself moving.

Rebecca insisted she did not know at this stage.

Wendy said: “Obviously that isn’t ideal for me and your family and friends, it’s just not.

“It would change our relationship because we are just so close.”

Her mum then broke down in tears and said: “I just can’t imagine you not being here, I couldn’t.

“I don’t know how I would cope without you. It would be so hard to not able to see you everyday or chat to you.

“It would break my heart if you left.”

Speaking to the VT, Wendy said she would “hate to lose” her daughter if she moved down south.

She added: “I like her being around the corner five minutes away from me, sometimes being on the end of the phone isn’t enough.

“I just want her to be here.”

But many E4 viewers were stunned by Rebecca’s mum’s reaction and branded her “controlling”.

One wrote: “Rebecca’s Mum is going to bring an end to this relationship because she’s being so selfish. Get a grip woman, your daughter is over the age of 18, she is allowed to move.”

A second said: “Rebecca’s mum is giving emotional abuse and I don’t like it one bit.”

A third commented: “Rebecca’s mum is so unbelievably selfish!!! Your daughter is in love and found a man that cherishes her and all you’re bothered about is having her at your beck and call round the corner. What about her happiness?”

“Rebecca’s mum on MAFS is actually so selfish. If my Mum said what her Mum said when I moved to Birmingham I’d be absolutely gutted. She ain’t supportive at all,” a fourth echoed.

Someone else agreed and said: “How controlling is Rebecca’s mum… any good mother would want their child’s happiness ..manipulation much.”

This person commented: “So Rebecca’s mum expects her to be 5 minutes away from her for the rest of her life. How selfish and controlling is that.”

“She’s guilt tripping Becs. Not fair,” this person fumed.

Another added: “I feel like both Bec and Bailey’s families will be the reason they split – both have been emotionally manipulated by family, Bec more so. Such a shame.”

Despite both of their fears, Rebecca and Bailey decided to continue their marriage on the outside in their final vows.

Just last week the pair broke down in tears as they struggled to make their relationship work.

Despite instantly hitting it off on the show, Bailey and Rebecca have faced some problems during their time in the experiment.

Last weekend Rebecca was targeted by a bitter ex, who claimed she messaged him behind Bailey’s back.

However, a source told us Rebecca and personal trainer Mark were never officially together, despite being close at times during the year they had known each other, and that her ex is using her profile to boost his business.

The insider said: “They were never in an official relationship, and looking at the credit at the end of the blog post to promote a business, it’s pretty obvious somebody is trying to ride on the back of her success on MAFS UK.

“It’s disappointing for Rebecca that someone would do that, but sadly not surprising.
