Weekend First Alert: Widespread on track for Saturday in Las Vegas

A series of storms is moving into Southern Nevada, keeping First Alert Weather Days in the forecast through early next week. Rain is picking up, accompanied by the coolest air so far this season.

Friday evening will stay mostly cloudy with light scattered showers moving across the area. Overnight low temperatures fall into the low 60s and upper 50s.

Saturday will be the wettest day of the weekend, with widespread rain picking up across the Las Vegas Valley. The heaviest downpours are expected during the afternoon and evening. With the cloudy and wet weather, forecast high temperatures fall back into the mid to low 60s around the Las Vegas Valley.

If you want to get outside and avoid the rain, Sunday will be a much better day for the outdoor plans. We’re looking at fewer showers with the breeze picking up. The forecast high is 62° in Las Vegas. Forecast rainfall amounts around the Las Vegas Valley through the weekend are in the 0.5- to 1-inch range.

A second colder storm is forecast to drop into the area Monday and Tuesday. This will keep scattered showers in the forecast with high temperatures falling into the 50s on Tuesday. This storm will also bring a better chance for some snow up at Mt. Charleston and Lee Canyon. This cold air is expected to stay with us through next weekend for the Formula 1 races. We’ll also have the chance for some more rain again later next week.
