The Guyana national senior men’s football team opened their CONCACAF Friendly Series (CFS) campaign with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Bonaire last night at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in St. John’s, Antigua. The match marked the debut of new Head Coach Thomas Dooley, who began his tenure on a winning note.

Guyana struck early through Stephen Duke-McKenna, who finished neatly in the 5th minute to give the Golden Jaguars an ideal start. Bonaire, however, found an equaliser before halftime to send the match into the interval locked at 1–1 and set up a competitive second half.

Despite the pressure, the Golden Jaguars regained control in the final 45 minutes. Substitute Osaze Rosario delivered the decisive moment in the 77th minute, calmly restoring Guyana’s lead and ultimately sealing the victory.
