Matt Hudson and Luke Bligh from Star Wars Sessions podcast spoke to Joplin Sibtain about how his role as Brasso in the Andor Disney+ series, and how it was originally cast to Rory McCann, that was until the Games of Thrones actor injured himself.
“He just had a limp and he went to work,” Sibtain told the Star Wars Sessions podcast of McCann. “They did a scan on it and the consultant said, ‘If you don’t have this operated on, you’re going to not be able to walk.’”
So, since McCann couldn’t continue, Sibtain was offered the chance to read for the role of Brasso. “They reshot it. They did a lot with The Hound’s face, they had to superimpose my face on [him],” he explained.
Fate has it that Rory McCann has gone on to play Baylan Skoll in the Ahsoka series, taking over from the late Ray Stevenson. While we wait for the second season of Ahsoka, you can stream the first season on Disney+ now.
