Warm Saturday Ahead for Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida, High Rip Current Risk at Beaches

In Jacksonville, Florida, residents can expect a welcome rise in temperatures after experiencing a brisk early morning chill. As the day progresses, temperatures are anticipated to climb into the upper 60s for Southeast Georgia and the low 70s for Northeast Florida, marking an increase of about 10 degrees compared to Friday’s lows.
Despite the warming trend, the area will remain under mostly cloudy and dry skies. However, with moisture returning to the atmosphere, light sprinkles along the coast are a possibility, although most of the region can anticipate continued dry conditions. Northeasterly winds will blow at speeds of 15 to 20 mph, with occasional gusts reaching the low 20s, contributing to a lingering chill in the air.
Beachgoers in Northeast Florida should exercise caution, as a high rip current risk is in effect until late Saturday night. With a significant football game taking place in Gainesville today—pitting the Florida State Seminoles against the Florida Gators—temperatures are projected to settle around the mid-60s under the prevailing cloudy skies.
Looking ahead to Sunday, chilly mornings are expected to give way to possible fog in areas inland west of I-95 and in Southeast Georgia. Temperatures are predicted to remain above freezing, hovering in the 40s.

As the week progresses, weather enthusiasts should prepare for the next chance of significant rain, which is forecasted to arrive overnight on Monday and extend into Tuesday. Southeast Georgia could receive up to an inch of rain during this period. Additionally, cooler weather is anticipated to make a return late next week, adding another layer of variability to the region’s weather patterns.
