Burlington bar puts on “Pints for the Pantry” food shelf event

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A local bar is raising the bar for what it means to serve your community.
Three Needs Tap Room in Burlington is hosting an event called “Pints for the Pantry” this Sunday, November 16th. It’s a community fundraiser created to support the Chittenden County Food Shelf at a time when access to food is a big concern for many.
Starting at 5:00 p.m., bar-goers can enjoy a night of music and fun and take part in a raffle, silent auction, and the chance to purchase artwork from local artists. There’s also an online action that’s live now.
Every ticket, bid, or piece of art purchased goes directly to the food shelf.
“Starting November 1st, millions of Americans lost access to SNAP benefits, raising awareness for food insecurity in our local community. We started this week off with ten contributions and ended this week with over 50 contributions,” said Sophia O’Leary of Three Needs.
The auction items, ranging from gift cards and baskets to handmade goods, art, services, and unique experiences, are all from local businesses.
If you can’t make it in person, you can participate in the auction online.
