Strictly’s Eddie Kadi suffers crushing blow hours before ITV I’m A Celebrity debut

A I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant has already been dealt a crushing setback.
Ten celebrities have entered the punishing ITV reality programme, which launches tonight (November 16), though only one can claim victory.
Shona McGarty, Eddie Kadi, Aitch, Alex Scott MBE, Jack Osbourne, Lisa Riley, Kelly Brook, Angry Ginge, Ruby Wax OBE and Martin Kemp are all trading their comfortable lifestyles for the harsh realities of jungle existence in Australia.
Following tradition, additional contestants are expected to arrive later, with Irish television personality Vogue Williams and Celebs Go Dating receptionist Tom Read Wilson rumoured to be heading to Australia shortly.
Content creator Angry Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwhistle, and Jack Osbourne, son of Ozzy Osbourne, are the frontrunners to claim this year’s I’m A Celeb crown, according to Ladbrokes.
The betting firm has disclosed precisely where punters have placed their money thus far, and whilst clear 7/4 favourite Angry Ginge is predictably dominating the popularity stakes, attracting 19.6% of all wagers placed to date.
Jack follows closely regarding bets received with 18.8% of support, whilst former Spandau Ballet vocalist Martin Kemp completes the top three positions at 14.9%.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Angry Ginge is clearly the one to beat Down Under – he’s got the backing of punters up to this point, but Jack Osbourne’s popularity may well surprise a few ahead of the series opener.”
Meanwhile, at the other end of the spectrum, comedian Eddie Kadi is tipped at a mere 50/1.
I’m a Celebrity isn’t Eddie’s first foray into reality television as he previously graced the dance floor in the 21st series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2023.
He twirled alongside professional partner Karen Hauer where they were the fourth couple to bid farewell to the competition.
Eddie is recognised for his radio presenting work for the BBC. Most notably, BBC 1Extra’s Official UK Afrobeats Charts Show and BBC Radio 5 Live’s sports comedy panel show Fighting Talk.
In 2010, he performed at the O2 arena as part of his comedy tour and has since then entertained audiences globally.
Eddie Kadi confessed it was an “immediate yes” when he was invited to participate in I’m a Celebrity as he wants to make his daughter proud.
“Raising a daughter is a beautiful thing and my daughter is extremely excited. It’s going to be a story for her every single day.
“And if I were to be crowned ‘King of the Jungle’, my daughter would be the proudest daughter in the world,” he said.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! airs at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
