Game Awards: ‘Clair Obscur: Expedition 33,’ ‘Donkey Kong Bananza’ up for Game of the Year

Nov. 17 (UPI) — The Game Awards announced the nominees for Game of the Year and other categories on Monday.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Hades II and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II are nominated for Game of the Year.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 leads the pack with 12 total nominations, followed by Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yotei with eight nominations each.
The Best Independent Game category includes Absolum, Ball x Pit, Blue Prince, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Hades II and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
The Best Multiplayer category includes Arc Raiders, Battlefield 6, Elden Ring Nightreign, Peak and Split Fiction.
The nominees for Most Anticipated Game include 007 First Light, Grand Theft Auto VI, Marvel’s Wolverine, Resident Evil Requiem and The Witcher IV.
The Game Awards will take place on Dec. 11. A full list of nominees was announced on the official Game Awards YouTube channel.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a role-playing game developed by French studio Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive. The company announced in October that the game has sold 5 million copies.
