After 7-Year Absence, Rey Mysterio Steps Back Into AAA Spotlight

Could a rematch against his son be far behind? AAA has announced that Rey Mysterio will be appearing for the promotion.

Listed as a “special guest” Mysterio will be attending a television taping in Puebla, Mexico on Friday, November 28th.

Mysterio hasn’t wrestled for WWE since April when he, Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix defeated American Made (Brutus Creed, Chad Gable and Julius Creed). Mysterio tore his groin in the match and missed WrestleMania because of the injury.

Mysterio hasn’t wrestled a match for AAA since 2018. At Verano de Escándalo, he and champion Rey Wagner were defeated by Jeff Jarrett in a three way match for the AAA Mega Title.

Interestingly enough, Dominik Mysterio is the current AAA Mega Champion.

The last time they fought was at WrestleMania 39. Rey defeated Dominik.
