John Cena Reacts To Winning WWE Intercontinental Title

John Cena shared his thoughts on winning WWE’s Intercontinental Title for the first time in his legendary career.
For the past 23 years, John Cena was a WWE superstar focused on winning World Championships, which he did 17 times, making him the only 17-time WWE World Champion in the company’s history.
In addition to the WWE World Titles, Cena was also a 5-time US Champion in his career, and he was also a 4-time WWE Tag Team Champion with four different tag team partners – The Miz, David Otunga, Shawn Michaels, and Batista.
During his final appearance on WWE Raw in Boston, John Cena beat Dominik Mysterio in an impromptu match to win the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his legendary career. That title win means that Cena joins the WWE Grand Slam Champions list.
“There Was Magic In The Air” – John Cena
John Cena was interviewed on ESPN First Take, and when he was asked about the IC Title win, he didn’t mention Dominik Mysterio by name, but he did express joy in being the champion.
“It was great. Normally in my history I don’t have a good record in Boston…I get my tail kicked. But it was my last time there, it was the last time at the TD Garden, there was magic in the air and I warned the guy who was challenging me – you don’t want to pick a fight with me tonight.
And man, he just picked the wrong guy on the wrong night so I was able to be the Intercontinental Champion and I think that rounds out a grand slam for me.”
For the final time, John Cena will appear on WWE Monday Night Raw, which takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
In addition to what will likely be John Cena’s final match on WWE Raw, there are some other big names expected to be at Raw as the road to Survivor Series continues.
Following the November 17th edition of WWE Raw, Cena is likely going to wrestle at Survivor Series on November 29 and then again in his retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 against the winner of the Last Time Is Now Tournament.
