Dean of Cork Nigel Dunne has tied the knot to his wife Sonya Keogh.

He has been the Dean of Cork since 2007 and marked the special occasion on Saturday, 15 November in front of a congregation totalling 300 people, who gathered to celebrate their new marriage.

Sonya looked incredible in a gown and wedding coat by couturiere, Sue Pearce – a Cork-based designer of handcrafted bridal wear.

For people who may not know, the Dean of Cork is the head of Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral, a Church of Ireland cathedral in Cork city.

The Very Reverend Dunne is responsible for the spiritual and administrative oversight of the cathedral’s community and represents Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral as the mother church of the diocese.

The newlyweds held their ceremony at Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral and they were married by the Right Reverend Dr Paul Colton, Bishop of Cork.

The Nuptial Eucharist was celebrated by the Reverend Canon Paul Willoughby, who is Rector of Kilmocomogue Union of Parishes (Bantry) and Canon of St Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin.

They were joined by 300 guests, with people from their family, church community, friends and more joining them.

One of the most incredible parts of the ceremony was the performances by the Cathedral Choir which featured around 40 members singing.

They were conducted by Director of Music, Peter Stobart, who was accompanied by Assistant Director of Music, Matthew Breen.

Guests were also treated to the talents of an ensemble of Cork’s leading musicians on strings, trumpet, flute and timpani.
