Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr has said that ‘it’s an honour’ as he broke his silence on rumours suggesting he could be one of the new Strictly Come Dancing presenters.
It’s been a turbulent period for the comedian, who won the hearts of the nation on Claudia Winkleman’s other major BBC series The Traitors.
Paired with singer Cat Burns and ITV presenter Jonathan Ross, Alan was one of three traitors causing mischief in the Scottish Highlands.
Managing to make it all the way to the tense grand final, Alan outsmarted the remaining faithfuls in a win that no one watching at home saw coming.
As a result of winning the first ever Celebrity Traitors, Alan donated his £87,500 prize to children’s cancer charity Neuroblastoma UK.
Since the UK’s most-watched TV show of the year came to an end, many have been wondering what TV venture Alan will take on next.
On top of demands for his Channel 4 talk show Chatty Man to be resurrected, some fans believe he’d be perfect taking on Strictly’s hosting duties.

Fans of the BBC dancing competition were left stunned last month when Claudia and her co-host Tess Daly announced on social media that they will be leaving Strictly at the end of its ongoing 23rd series.
It’s been confirmed by the BBC that their last appearance together will be on Strictly’s annual Christmas special, which will air on December 25, just days after Strictly 2025 concludes on December 20.
With the likes of Bradley Walsh, Alex Jones, Fleur East and Holly Willoughby among the bookies’ favourites to land the job, Alan has had his say on whether he’d be interested.
Speaking to the Radio Times, he said: “Apparently my name is in the hat, which is an honour, but I haven’t spoken to anyone at the BBC.
“You saw how sweaty I was in the castle, imagine me live on a Saturday night coming down those stairs – people would slip in a pool of my sweat while doing the fandango.
“It’s lovely to be thought of, but it’s probably a bit too nerve-racking.”
Alan can next be seen in the new season of Changing End, which returns on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday night (November 23).
The semi-autobiographical coming-of-age series follows Alan acting alongside a younger version of himself, with young actor Oliver Savell donning his iconic glasses.
The synopsis for season three reads: “Whatever happens, it’s going to be tough as Alan has the thankless task of navigating the adolescent minefields that are sleepovers, swimming lessons and nights out with the boys – and the girls.
“But it’s not all doom and gloom as some unexpected allies give Alan a much-needed glimpse of a hopeful future and they’re not a million miles away from his own doorstep.”
