Bloomberg hires Mascarenhas for tech team

Natasha Mascarenhas
Bloomberg News senior executive editor Tom Giles sent out the following on Monday:
Hi all, please join us in welcoming Natasha Mascarenhas to Global Tech!
We’re very excited to bring Natasha onto the Bloomberg VC and startups team. She comes to us from The Information, where she’s broken major news on firms like Sequoia, Benchmark, Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst and more, as well as on startups including OpenAI, Anthropic, Ramp, Anduril, Cursor and xAI.
In more than seven years covering the beat, Natasha has become a fixture of the Bay Area startup and venture capital scene. She’s built a reputation as an impeccably sourced award-winning reporter, with great insights into the mechanics of the Valley -– as shown by her scoops, features, podcasts, regular columns and conference appearances.
Natasha has been pursuing journalism from an early age — starting a magazine for her third grade class! — taking a brief detour for a part-time barista job, and still spends her free time hunting for great coffee.
Natasha will be based in San Francisco, working with Anne VanderMey, Lizette Chapman, Rachel Metz and Shirin Ghaffary on all things startups and the fast-changing world of VC. Her official start date with the team is January.
