Students watch on in horror as firefighters swarm major UK’s university hall

Horror footage appears to show a fire coming from a halls of residence at a major UK university. According to the reports, emergency services have been called to Arthur Vick residences campus in Warwick University after a fire broke out on Wednesday evening.

Video footage circulating on social media captures the dramatic moment one of the buildings was engulfed in flames, with students gathered outside observing the incident as it unfolded. At least two fire engines and a police car were dispatched to tackle the blaze, which witnesses told The Boar reported.

The fire is thought to have originated in a room on the top floor of the block, though the exact cause has not yet been confirmed.

Students leaving nearby circling events, along with those evacuated from the building, gathered across the street to watch as emergency crews worked to bring the situation under control, it has been reported.

A University spokesperson told publication: “Emergency services are attending a fire on campus in a residence block – Arthur Vick 1. Students have been evacuated, and the University is working with the emergency services. The accommodation team is providing support to those affected.”

Arthur Vick Residences are located on Warwick’s central campus and provide self-catered, en suite accommodation for students.
