It’s been a couple of months since Leanne received its official season 2 pickup from Netflix, and we’ve finally got some brand new information with tickets now going up for the taping of season 2. Here’s what we know.
In case you missed it this Summer, the multi-cam sitcom Leanne sees a woman’s world upended when her husband of 33 years walks out on her for another woman, sending her on an unexpected journey of chaos, humor, and renewal. With the unwavering support of her family, especially her ride-or-die sister Carol, she discovers strength and hope in unlikely places and begins rewriting her life on her own terms.
The comedy is co-created and executive-produced by Susan McMartin, Chuck Lorre, and Leanne Morgan, with Nick Bakay and Judi Marmel also serving as executive producers. The series stars Leanne Morgan, Kristen Johnston, Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Ryan Stiles, Graham Rogers, and Hannah Pilkes, and is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc., in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Following its debut on Netflix on July 31st, it spent two weeks in the global top 10s, picking up 5.5M views, and on September 8th, Netflix pulled the trigger on a second season.
Given that the series is filmed in front of a live studio audience and the fact that they need to get those tickets out into the world, we now know the filming dates for season 2, and they’re scheduled for the New Year.
Tickets are available for six dates currently, with those including:
- January 9th
- January 16th
- January 30th
- February 6th
- February 12th
- February 27th
As with season 1, taping for season 2 will take place at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, in the United States. You can request up to 4 tickets for any individual date, and they advise you to arrive 30-45 minutes before taping. You can request tickets for any of the dates listed above using this link to 1iota.
One question that remains about the renewal is precisely how many episodes season 2 will feature. Season 1 had one of the largest episode drops in Netflix history for an English-language show, with 16 episodes. Whether that’ll be the case for season 2 is unclear, and the available filming dates don’t really give anything away, especially if more dates are to be released and announced in the future.
What does all this mean for a release date? Well, if those filming dates represent the entire filming schedule (we’re skeptical they do) and given the type of show it is, then we could certainly see a late 2026 return.
While you’re waiting, Leanne Morgan’s new stand-up comedy special, Unspeakable, touched down on the streamer on November 4th, and it’s been doing well, too. In fact, it’s one of the most-watched debuts for a special in 2025. That accolade is in addition to the fact that Leanne’s first special, I’m Every Woman, is Netflix’s most viewed stand-up from a female comedian globally since 2023. Another stand-up special is also in the works.
