Collingwood has welcomed four new Magpies to the Club, with Tyan Prindable, Sam Swadling, Zac McCarthy and Angus Anderson joining the black and white at the second night of the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft.

Hailing from Queensland and a member of the Brisbane Lions Academy, Prindable was the first player selected by Collingwood.

The left footer played three games at the National Championship level for the Allies, averaging 19 disposals and 5.7 tackles.

The versatile talent can play both on the inside and outside and will be a strong addition to the Pies’ midfield.

Swadling was Collingwood’s second selection at pick 37, known for his ball skills and kicking ability.

The Western Australian product represented his state four times in the 2025 National Championships and has experience playing at the senior level in the WAFL on four occasions.

Next Generation Academy product McCarthy was the Pies’ third at pick 55 from the Oakley Chargers and Victoria Metro in the National Championships.

McCarthy, who is of Vietnamese heritage, will be a welcomed addition to the Collingwood’s growing young talent in the forward line.

To end the night, Anderson became a Magpie with his name being called at pick 57.

Anderson was Captain of the Sydney Swans Academy as a junior and played 18 games across the 2025 SANFL Season, averaging 20.1 disposals and 4.6 tackles.

Playing for Sturt Football Club in the SANFL, he won the Jack Oatey Medal for best on field in the 2025 Grand Final.

Collingwood National Recruiting Manager Shane O’Bree welcomes the new additions to the Club.

“It was an exciting night for our football Club welcoming four new players into the black and white,” O’Bree said.

“We have a nice combination of players and talent and we are looking forward to seeing them develop within our four walls.

“Tyan has impressive clearance work and has shown his capabilities against a senior side, which will hold him in good stead as he adapts to our program.

“Much the same, Sam’s foot and ball work attracted us as well as his experience playing at WAFL and National level. He will be an exciting addition to watch.

“It’s great to welcome another NGA product in Zac, who is a tall forward and will be an exciting addition to our front half.

“When you watch Angus play football, there is a lot of heart in his game. Watching his journey as a footballer has been fulfilling.

“This group will complement and challenge each other well as we begin pre-season and head into 2026.”

Collingwood will now turn its focus to the 2025 AFL Rookie Draft, held tomorrow from 3:10pm AEDT live on AFL.com.au.
