2025 Telstra AFL Draft: Pick 60 – Will Darcy

The father-son prospect was taken with the final selection in the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft.

Will Darcy is officially a Bulldog.

The 18-year-old becomes the latest in the Darcy lineage to land at the Kennel, joining brother Sam on the list and following in the footsteps of father Luke (226 games) and late grandfather David (133 games).

Will was taken with Pick 60, the final selection in the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft.

Having suffered a back injury which limited him to only five appearances with the Oakleigh Chargers, Will’s ability to impact at either end of the ground will sure excite Bulldogs fans.

Bulldogs Player Acquisition and Strategy Manager Michael Regan said Will’s development through school footy and the Coates Talent League had been pleasing.

“He started off the year outside the Oakleigh program, and a fair bit of that was just a family decision to make sure that he could focus on his schooling and really enjoy Year 12 at Scotch College,” Regan told Gettable pre-draft.

“He started the year off like a rocket at Scotch, especially down at Geelong College, I think he ripped that game apart.

“Will’s continued to develop and evolve, and even since his footy has finished, going through the interview process, just seeing the difference in Will, the chest puffs out a little bit more and he’s got a bit of a presence about him so we’re really excited about what he can do for the footy club.

“Will has had less exposure to the pathways than most players and he has a lot of developing to do.

“He’s a really exciting prospect in terms of what he can do on field and a really good person off it from a good family.”
