Birmingham City captain Christoph Klarer has signed a new two-year contract extension with the Championship club.
The Austrian centre-back joined Blues from German second-tier side Darmstadt on a three-year deal in July 2024 and his new terms will keep him at St Andrew’s until at least June 2029.
The 25-year-old said extending his time with Birmingham “feels great”, external and added his new deal “obviously motivates me to work even harder and to really make an impact at this club”.
Klarer has made 70 appearances for Blues and scored three goals.
He helped keep 22 clean sheets in Birmingham’s record-breaking promotion campaign in League One last season.
Blues are 11th in the Championship table, four points outside the play-off places, and are at home against Norwich City on Saturday.
