Spencer Lofranco Dies: ‘Gotti’, ‘Jamesy Boy’ Star Was 33

Canadian actor Spencer Lofranco, known best for his starring roles in the films Gotti and Jamesy Boys, died Tuesday, his brother Santino Lofranco revealed on Instagram. He was 33.

Lofranco’s death is currently under investigation in British Columbia, Canada, where he passed, according to TMZ. The cause has not been determined.

Lofranco studied acting as a teenager at the New York Film Academy. His first major role came in 2013’s At Middleton. He was cast as Conrad Hartman, a high school senior touring a college campus in the indie romantic comedy, starring alongside Andy García and Vera Farmiga. The film premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival. He landed his first starring role in Trevor White’s biographical crime drama film Jamesy Boy, playing troubled teenager James Burns.

He went on to co-star in Angelina Jolie’s 2014 war drama Unbroken as Harry Brooks, opposite Mary-Louise Parker, Ving Rhames and Domhnall Gleeson. He next appeared in John Henry Hinkel’s thriller film Home and as Billy in Hank Bedford’s Dixieland, which premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival, alongside Riley Keough, Chris Zylka and Faith Hill. He also appeared in the 2016 biopic King Cobra about the life and early career of gay pornographic film actor Sean Paul Lockhart.

Lofranco’s final screen appearance was in the role of John Gotti Jr. in the 2018 film Gotti, which starred John Travolta in the title role, along with Kelly Preston, Stacy Keach, Pruitt Taylor Vince, William DeMeo, Leo Rossi, Tyler Olson and Megan Leonard.
