Season 2 of Taylor Sheridan’s Texas-set oil drama “Landman” premiered last Sunday, Nov. 16, to record-breaking numbers, setting viewership records with over 9.2 million streaming views for its first episode in the first two days, Paramount+ said in a news release.

“Views increased by +262% from the first season premiere, making it the most watched premiere for any original series for Paramount+,” the streamer said.

Demi Moore, whose character will be more central this season, teased ahead of the premiere that the season would start “with a bang.”

“It gets juicy,” Moore told USA TODAY.

Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, “Landman” depicts a “modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs,” according to the series synopsis.

“In Season Two, as oil rises from the earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’ (Billy Bob Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realizes,” this season’s synopsis said.

As Norris faces “mounting pressure” from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Moore) and “the shadow of his kin,” his “survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break,” the synopsis reads.

‘Landman’: Stream on Paramount+

Co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, the series is based on the 11-part podcast “Boomtown” from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly and is described as “an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

When does the next episode of ‘Landman’ Season 2 come out?

Episode 2 of the series titled “Sins of the Father” will release on Sunday, Nov. 23, at midnight ET / Saturday, Nov. 22, at 9 p.m. PT on Paramount+.

How to watch ‘Landman’ Season 2

Season 2 of ‘Landman’ Season 2, which premiered on Nov. 16, is available to stream exclusively on Paramount+ with new episodes dropping weekly at midnight ET on Sundays, Paramount spokesperson Kate Mann confirmed to USA TODAY.

Season 1 of the series is also available to stream on Paramount+.
