Dominic Calvert-Lewin identifies what Leeds United are missing in fight to avoid relegation

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is convinced Leeds United will avoid relegation this season and is hell-bent on proving he is right. But he is fully aware that something is lacking in this Leeds side.
The pressure is on Daniel Farke at the moment, with large sections of the Leeds support calling for the German boss to be sacked. LeedsUnited.News understands Farke has until January to turn things around.
However, defeat at home to Villa with Man City, Chelsea, and Liverpool to follow will heap the pressure on Farke even further. Leeds need results regardless of the opposition to stay out of the bottom three.
Calvert-Lewin has endured a tricky start to life at Elland Road. While the England striker has managed to remain injury-free so far, the forward has managed just one Premier League goal in seven league starts.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin convinced Leeds will avoid relegation
Speaking to Sky Sports’ One on One this week, Calvert-Lewin is confident Leeds won’t go down despite a dismal run of four losses in five games, and five defeats in the club’s six away games in the league.
However, the former Everton and Sheffield United striker also identified something in Leeds’ squad that is missing, and that is Premier League experience. He believes some of his teammates need to “step up”.

“Promoted teams, statistically, it’s backs against the wall. We’ve shown what we’re good at, capable of, and where we can improve. It’s that mentality of win or learn. You win, but if you don’t, you analyse why.

“Where you start is not where you are collectively at the end of the season. We haven’t got an abundance of experience but we have enough and we have players that can grow into roles, and step up,” he added.
“100% it’s achievable, the evidence shows that. Small details have let us down; we need to turn that to our favour. We have full belief in achieving our targets, that’s what we’re striving for,” Calvert-Lewin finished.

Predicting Leeds United’s next four games ahead of tough run
The one element of hope and relief, is that three of Leeds’ next four Premier League games are at Elland Road having faced both Brighton and Nottingham Forest on the road, before the November break.
Villa first on Sunday, followed by Man City on November 29. Then, it is Chelsea under the light at Elland Road on December 3, before remaining in Yorkshire to take on Anfield, an evening kick-off on the sixth.

Four incredibly tough games. Elland Road advantage is one thing, but Villa and City certainly are two of the most in-form sides in the league at the moment. If Leeds get two or three points, it is a big plus.
But defeat to Aston Villa will seriously question Farke’s position as manager. A fifth defeat in six ahead of three games that could easily be heavy losses will see Leeds plunge into the bottom three.
