Jacoby Brissett injured in third quarter by Devin Lloyd hit

Jacksonville Jaguars must find ways to run ball vs. Arizona Cardinals
Times-Union sports columnist Ryan O’Halloran previews the Jacksonville Jaguars game from Glendale, Ariz., just hours before kickoff vs. Cardinals.
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett was injured on a play at 3:29 in the third quarter after a hard hit by Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd near the sideline.
Initially, a flag was thrown for hitting Brissett out of bounds, but the flag was picked up after replay assist.
“They ruled Devin Lloyd made contact when Jacoby Brissett was still in bounds, so it should not have been a flag and was correctly called,” said CBS rules analyst and retired NFL referee Gene Steratore during the game broadcast.
Brissett was flushed out of the pocket and ran toward the right sideline but slowed up without getting out of bounds. Lloyd threw a shoulder into Brissett, which knocked him out of bounds.
Brissett laid flat on his back before rolling on his side, then getting up and heading to the tent.
At that point, Brissett was 22-for-29 for 176 yards.
Cardinals third string quarterback Kedon Slovis was brought in to relive Brissett.
Slovis played college football at USC and is in his second year in the NFL after going undrafted in 2024.
Slovin only lasted two plays, a direct snap to Greg Dortsch and a pass completed to Dortsch for -2 yards.
Brissett returned to the game at 14:46 in the fourth quarter.
