India vs South Africa Live Score, 2nd Test Day 3: India are in a spot of bother in Guwahati as Marco Jansen removed Dhruv Jurel for a 11-ball duck in the ongoing first session. The home side’s top order has crumbled as Simon Harmer also struck twice. First Harmer removed Yashasvi Jaiswal and then removed Sai Sudharsan (15). Jaiswal thought that he was in control, and it looked like he was on his way to a big knock. But Lady Luck had other plans as the Guwahati pitch began to turn, and Jaiswal ended up outside edging Harmer to Marco Jansen at short third man for a low catch. Jaiswal could only stare in disappointment and then he left for the dugout, for 58 off 97 balls. Meanwhile, KL Rahul was dismissed for 22 off 63 balls, edging Keshav Maharaj to first slip, and India’s opening partnership also came to an end at 65 after the pair decided not to allow Simon Harmer to settle, taking him for a four and six despite Temba Bavuma banking heavily on his spinners.

The visitors dominated the second day, with Kyle Verreynne and Senuran Muthusamy extending their overnight stand and subjecting India to a wicketless morning. The partnership looked increasingly threatening until Ravindra Jadeja finally lured Verreynne out of his crease, resulting in a sharp stumping and a much-needed breakthrough. But Muthusamy remained composed, rotating strike fluently and keeping India under pressure.

Marco Jansen’s arrival only deepened India’s woes. He launched a blistering counterattack against the spinners, forcing Rishabh Pant to switch to pace, but even Jasprit Bumrah couldn’t contain him as he continued to clear the straight boundaries with ease. His alliance with Muthusamy powered South Africa past 400, with Muthusamy also bringing up his maiden Test century.

Mohammed Siraj eventually removed Muthusamy after lunch, but Jansen carried on relentlessly, hammering 93 off 91 balls and falling just short of a well-deserved hundred. South Africa’s total of 489 left India with plenty of questions after enduring 151 overs across two taxing days.

India’s openers then had to contend with fading light in the final half hour before stumps. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul survived without trouble, ensuring the hosts reached the close unscathed.
