The cold snap may be settling in, but Carlow is warming up the Christmas spirit with an early gift for shoppers: free parking throughout the festive season.
From Saturday, November 29 until Friday, January 2, Carlow County Council have announced that certain places in Carlow town centre will offer free parking, with some offering free parking during selected times of the day too.
There will be free parking in the Town Hall, Green Bank Road and VISUAL car parks.
Free parking over the festive period in Carlow town
Meanwhile Pay & Display zones in the town will offer free parking from 9.30am to 12pm and from 3pm until 6.30pm.
The 30-minute free on-street parking will continue to apply on Tullow Street Upper, Lower Dublin Street, Kennedy Avenue Potato Market and Castle Street.
If you park outside the stated times and days, you will have to pay for parking as normal.
