Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards has spoken out about her new relationship.
The presenter confirmed her romance just days ago after celebrating their one-year anniversary with a mysterious picture on Instagram holding a man’s hand.
Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women today, in a discussion about a viral article on whether having a boyfriend is embarrassing now, Brenda revealed more details about her relationship.
When probed by co-star Ruth Langsford about her “soft launch” online, Brenda replied: “I don’t see that as soft, that’s really hard. For me, that’s hard.
“I’ve been single for seven years as people know, and I have so many times on here, romanticised and have wanted the fairytale and that, and that prince… so I’ve kept him quiet for a year.”

“Your prince has arrived,” Ruth replied, as Brenda went on: “I manifested him on here in June and he turned up in November.”
She added: “I gave my list and he ticked pretty much every box.”
Brenda went on to say she discussed sharing that image with her new partner, because she considers herself a private person with her relationships.
“We did speak about it and I wanted to do the hands, he’s of Irish background, and it’s Claddagh hands, the hands show friendship and loyalty and trust and unity, and I like everything about it.”

She added that her partner was happy for her to post the image, saying: “We’re both on the same wavelength.”
Meanwhile, Myleene Klass commented that after meeting Brenda’s man, “he’s very handsome, very lovely, and obviously adores you”.
Brenda is mum to daughter Tanisha and late son Jamal, who tragically died in 2022 at the age of 31.
Taking to her Instagram just last week, Brenda shared the picture holding her partner’s hands, and wrote: “A year ago, you walked into my life with laughter in your beautiful eyes and so much unconditional love in your heart and every day since has been that much brighter.
“Your humor makes the ordinary magical, your love makes the difficult easy, and your steady spirit makes me feel safe enough to dream bigger than I already do, even silence feels like music, and every moment feels like we have known each other for years! You just get it! X.”

She concluded the post by saying: “So here’s to us, one year of laughter, love, and balance, and a lifetime still waiting to be written.
“I can’t wait to keep turning pages with you, hand in hand, side by side, back to back, heart to heart. Love you Boy.”
She was supported by fans and co-stars alike, with Ruth Langsford wishing them a happy anniversary while Denise Welch joked: “SOFT LAUNCH!”
Brenda had earlier teased her new relationship on Loose Women, but played coy over sharing any details.
“I think that it is quite nice. Opposites do attract. I do believe that,” she said.

She added that she and her partner have “common interests”, saying: “We do have common interests and I think that’s important because then you don’t mind if they want to go and do something.
“It’s all about communication with it, and I think that’s key, and I’m enjoying having that sort of communication.”
Brenda had previously spoken about past relationships, including her marriage to Patrick Edwards, which she claimed friends didn’t know about for 27 years.
She said on Loose Women in 2023: “I was married for 27 years, it was only when I got divorced after 27 years that my friends – that had been friends with for 17 years – found out that I was even married.”
She added: “I had a ring on and everything, but they were just like, ‘What, you’re married?'”
Talking about keeping her relationships away from the spotlight, Brenda said: “I’m not that person to put that out, there’s enough that we talk about, I want to keep some things for myself, and that relationship I want to keep to myself, I just don’t want to parade that person.”
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
