Breeze Airlines no longer plans to begin service between Eugene and Burbank, a spokesperson for Breeze confirmed Nov. 21.

Breeze spokesperson McKinnley Matson told The Register-Guard Breeze “occasionally need(s) to make adjustments to (its) schedule in order to maximize (its) limited resources.” Matson said such cuts are rare and Breeze “will not be able to begin service in EUG as planned for the time being.” The airline might revisit the decision in the future, Matson said.

Breeze, a Utah-based, low-cost domestic airline, operates more than 300 year-round and seasonal routes to 76 cities in 34 states. It began operating commercially in 2021.

The Eugene-Burbank connection would have been Breeze Airways’ first offering at EUG. Breeze previously announced it would begin service in March 2026. It made the announcement after Avelo Airlines pulled out of EUG and other West Coast airports. Avelo’s final flight out of Eugene was on Oct. 20.

Alaska Airlines added a competing flight between Eugene and Hollywood Burbank Airport that began service Oct. 26.
